Drilling
The most common use of bentonite is in drilling fluids. The bentonite in the flush fluid lubricates and cools the cutting tools while protecting against corrosion. Bentonites in drilling industry are used to carry the degraded materials in soil layers above to reduce friction by forming film layers inside the well to increase wearing resistance of the drilling bits
Grouting
The Bentonite grouting, which will not solidify, is mainly expected to reduce the hydraulic conductivity of underground water in the expected damage zone by filling the fractures or cracks, so the evaluation of the degree of hydraulic conductivity, stability and the improvement area becomes important.
